WHO SOLD OUR FUTURE?
For most, ‘The Future’ is packaged and sold to us by media, technology marketing, cinema, pop culture, etc... But how can we imagine it ourselves? How can we challenge the seemingly unchangable ‘status quo’ and create collaborative spaces today for co-imagination of, and action towards, more sustainable and positive futures.
Working in between strategic design, design research and design futuring (speculative & critical design), I aim to bring communities, users and other groups together to share their present experiences and activate their imagination toward preferable futures. I do this through collaborative workshops and (qualitative) design research activities that favors a participatory and thinking-through-making mindset. Here are some examples what I do:
☞ Desk and primary research (trends, emerging signals, present and future behaviours);
☞ Co-creation workshops that catalyse community building and participatory decision making;
☞ Creation of Future scenarios that explore opportunities, implications and concerns;
☞ Building the future now with artefacts that inspire action today (roadmaps, vision scenarios, branding and communication material, product concepts, etc.).
